1.0.0-rc3 - Third Release Candidate

This is primarily a series of bug fixes based on user feedback. We would like to thank everyone who reported bugs for their invaluable help.

Notes

1.0.0-rc3 is NOT compatible with databases from 1.0.0-rc2 or earlier. Databases are converted as part of the upgrade process. 1.0.0-rc3 server REQUIRES 1.0.0-rc3 clients. Please upgrade all your clients to the new version.

Upgrading

• Backup settings.php from your installation
• The upgrader will attempt to backup your database, but manually taking a backup would be a good idea.
• Replace your existing installation with the new version from the tar.gz or zip file
• Replace your settings.php file
• Browse to http://your.server/path as normal
• You will be prompted that an upgrade is required.
• Enter your xibo_admin password, and follow the upgrade wizard.
• You will be asked if you consent to us collecting some anonymous statistics about your use of Xibo. Please read the following article for a full explaination of what is collected and why: http://xibo.org.uk/2009/03/05/xibo-statistics/
• The upgrade should run, and finally ask you to log in as you would normally.
• Please then check the following things:
  • Management -> Settings -> Default.

         Check that a sensible default timezone has been chosen. If not, please set this to match your server locale.

• Feature in the server to "ping" xibo.org.uk periodically (Statistics)
• Schema Versions for XLF and XMDS
• Replace Content Form in Library should tell user it will not update layouts
